The turrets on the entrance tower of this Grade A listed Scottish castle with peacocks gracing sweeping lawns, are magically revealed after a winding drive through woodland.

Completed in 1608, the Moncreiff family have lived here since 1747 and yet their colourful ancestry and the 17th century architectural features do not overpower this lovely family home. Guests use the Great Hall with its enormous log fire and family portraits on the first floor as their own sitting room, reached by a winding stone spiral staircase. The generous size comfortable Georgian bedroom is next door with more stone steps leading down to a newly refurbished private bathroom.

Outside, two historic ruins - a 9th century Celtic graveyard and remnants of a ruined medieval church - and a 150 yard ‘moat' and doocot sit in parkland. The one acre kitchen garden is also being restored to provide some seasonal vegetables
