Lying behind what is unmistakably a well-loved family home, The Manor House has a unique history to reveal to its guests. Over 500 years old, this Elizabethan manor house was once owned by Henry VIII who presented it to his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves and then to his fifth wife, Catherine Howard.
You approach this beautiful home along a tree-lined drive and are greeted by your hosts with welcoming tea and cakes. The large entrance hall opens to an elegantly furnished dining room and relaxing drawing room with a large inglenook fireplace. The comfortable guest rooms of The Manor House both enjoy views towards the small Saxon church nearby.
Outside, you will enjoy exploring a very typical English country house garden complete with a beautifully planted pond and a very special separate cloister garden as well as an orchard. You are also welcome to use the swimming pool and tennis court. |
